Snakeboy was invited to play this festival twice while he lived in Portland. Killer line up of musicians every year, and all for a worthy cause. My many thanks to Peter Dammann for helping locate photos & video of Snakeboy.
“Welcome reporters, music critics and photographers to the 2008 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival – celebrating 21 years of blues, community and fighting hunger … because no one should be hungry.
From its modest beginnings in 1988, the Waterfront Blues Festival has grown in size and reputation to be the largest blues festival West of the Mississippi and the second-largest blues festival in the United States. Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival is a benefit for Oregon Food Bank. All admission donations help Oregon Food Bank’s work to eliminate hunger and its root causes. Our sponsors make the festival possible.”
